Nicholas Cage’s daring roles and performances like this one are what make him one of the most interesting and great contemporary actors. He dares to venture where many wouldn’t even consider.

This film, which falls between ‘Jagten’ (2012) and ‘Strawberry Mansion’ (2021), delivers tremendously on both comedic (in a subtle and absurd fashion) and dramatic levels through its amazingly cringey, realistic dialogues and unique characters.

While Borgli could have delved deeper into more surrealistic territory considering the dreamlike element in the film, the first and second acts are perfectly synchronized despite their different tones. However, the final part of the film feels more formulaic and conventional.
