While it is true that the film does not gain much momentum until its second half, when we finally learn about the danger and origin behind the “being”, once it gets there, the action becomes quite gripping and exciting.

This is supported by very good sound design and even some impressive visual effects used to convey the presence and force of the invisible sound creature. Displaying soundwaves is admittedly the obvious choice, but combined with the physical vibrations shown in the actors when the creature takes over, it becomes a surprisingly effective way of presenting an otherwise original but complex concept.

Nonetheless, there is an important element that feels rather weak: the chemistry within our young trio, especially between our main character, Tony, and the other two members of the group. The character of Zoé also suffers, as her ambition to become a journalist is turned into a caricature, complete with repetitive catchphrases that give her dialogue a cheap sitcom vibe.
