Review by Guifré Margarit i Contel | 14 October 2023
This film provides a brutally honest and empathetic look into the psychological and physical struggles that women of all sorts face with their bodies.
The fact that Simon is not just an observer but an involved participant in his own investigation makes the film even more relatable.
The film explores various subjects such as sex, maternity, sexual identity, birth, disease, death, and the medical professionals dealing with these cases. No subject is left untouched.
While the film could have avoided using any score at all (as it feels too clinical and the royalty-free music slightly throws you off during transitional sequences), it might have benefited from focusing on fewer cases. Despite this, it still manages to be a deeply emotional and touching movie.
