In spite of having quite an outstanding photography and a pretty catchy score, the film suffers from having somewhat bland characters and becoming a bit uneventful and repetitive.
Nevertheless, we are driven to a quite satisfying happy ending.

With a rather cool epic and bleak soundtrack, this would easily be the favourite documentary for the characters of Cronenberg’s Crash (1996).
The film succeeds in balancing both the action of banger racing and the private life of the protagonists.
Deeply touching drama with great acting (special mention for the young Louise Mauroy-Panzani) and use of animation.
Nonetheless it feels like the film would have benefit from putting more attention into the feelings of the biological children.
